There’s no “one size fits all” answer that explains exactly how we make videos.

That’s not us trying to keep trade secrets to ourselves; it’s the fact that, quite literally, every video production we’ve ever been involved with has been unique. Even across very similar projects. In the last two years we have produced no less than 11 TV commercials for outlet retailers. Everyone of which was different.

But when we look through our past work, and when we speak with new clients about future projects, there are some consistencies in the way we like to present ourselves as a company. This blog post isn’t so much about our creative process when it comes to generating ideas (We’ve written a more focussed posted about this topic) so much as it is about our process for operating as a video production company and creative partner for our clients.

It’s All About Collaboration

At Paragon Pictures, we set out to offer a turnkey service. We pride ourselves on having the skills and expertise to take care of and facilitate every aspect of production from start to finish within your specific requirements. That means the earliest stages of creative development right through to broadcast clearance and delivery.

We also want to offer a collaborative relationship. What our clients want from us changes depending on who they are and what we’re doing for them. But whatever relationship you want to enjoy with Paragon, we’re there to make sure it happens. Some clients want to be hands-on throughout the video production process. If that’s your vibe, we’ll collaborate as closely as you want, while offering our professional guidance. Clients are paying us for our knowledge, experience, creativity and resourcefulness. If you want to be kept abreast of every single decision or save on stress by letting us take the reins entirely, there’s no right or wrong way to collaborate. But we’re there to make this relationship as fruitful and enjoyable as possible.

The Importance of Transparency

The other chief philosophy we think makes us stand out from other product companies is our transparency. We are -- and will always be -- very open and honest about our decision making. Any budget you receive from us is broken down line by line. That means you can see exactly where the money is being spent and how much things cost. We’ll also discuss any times we have a creative opinion that doesn’t necessarily align with the client’s. Ultimately, we’re there to create something you’re proud of, but we also want to present our expertise and draw on our experience to point out when there might be a better, more effective way of doing something. If, to the best of our knowledge, we believe a creative decision might not work, we will always state our case as diplomatically as possible.
