TV Commercial Production

From fast-turnaround retail spots to brand-defining national ads, we've produced TV commercials for names like Debenhams, Boohoo, Dorothy Perkins, NOW Music and Ministry of Sound. Every project starts with your brief and ends with a commercial that's ready for broadcast - shot, edited, cleared and delivered to spec.

From Brief to Broadcast

A TV commercial has to work harder than most content - it's competing for attention in an ad break, and it usually has to land the message in 30 seconds or less. We handle the full production process end to end: concepting, scripting, filming and edit, built around what will actually cut through on screen.

Once it's finished, we manage Clearcast clearance and deliver every version - full length and cutdowns - to your broadcasters, working to whatever media plan your team or agency already has in place.

FAQs

We get a lot of questions about TV Commercials - here are the most common.

How much does a TV commercial cost to produce?

It varies with scope - cast, locations, shoot days, and how much post-production (VFX, grade, original music, motion graphics) the brief needs all shape the number, and broadcast delivery adds its own requirements around clearances, licensing and spec compliance. We scope every project around the brief rather than a fixed package.

Does a TV commercial need to be cleared before it can air, and who handles that?

Yes - every UK TV ad needs Clearcast approval before broadcasters will run it, covering compliance with advertising standards. We support you through the clearance process alongside production, so it's one less thing to manage separately.

How long does the whole process take, from brief to air?

Production follows the same shape as any shoot - creative development, pre-production, the shoot itself, then post - but a TV commercial has an extra step after the edit: clearance, which typically needs a couple of weeks built into the schedule before your air date. The earlier we know that date, the more comfortably it all fits.

Do you handle media planning, or just production and delivery?

Media planning sits with you or your media agency - we work from whatever plan's already in place and take care of everything from there: production, clearance, and delivering the finished ad to your stations, ready to air.

Do I need my TV commercial in more than one length?

Some campaigns do - a 30-second version for the main slot, plus shorter cutdowns (20s, 10s) for cheaper spots or different placements within the same campaign. We plan for this from the edit stage, cutting a hero version first and trimming down cleanly rather than re-editing from scratch for each length.

We don’t just produce concepts. We bring them to life.
